World Equestrian Brands Drone Cam: Spirits Bay Horses
Today’s Wednesday Drone Cam takes us to a remote bay in New Zealand, home to some wild horses!
New Zealand’s Spirits Bay was believed by the Maori to be a place where spirits of the dead gathered before departing the world for their ancestral home. It’s now become a popular tourist destination, though it’s managed to avoid a lot of development and has stayed fairly wild.
The hills above Spirits Bay are home to feral horses, descended from stock released in the past two centuries. Lucky visitors to Spirits Bay might catch a glimpse or two of these horses on their visit to the area.
This drone cam gets a closer look at both a small band of wild horses and the beautiful waters and vibrant green hills of Spirits Bay. The filmmaker chose a somewhat sinister soundtrack, trying to capture the sense of mystery and spirituality surrounding the legendary location.
Have you ever been to Spirits Bay and glimpsed the wild horses? Post your story and photos in the comments section!
Go riding!
