7 of the Most Adorable Videos from 2014

As we wind down 2014 and prepare for the New Year, what better way to celebrate than by reviewing some of the most adorable horse videos that went viral in 2014? Join us, dear readers, as we take a ride down memory lane.

1. Take a ride on the wild side with Pony Steeplechasing

Spunky ponies, fearless children, and high-speed jumping. What could possibly go wrong?

2. An adorable I mean, fierce mini stallion shows the world who’s boss

Log in to Facebook to behold his mighty battle cry:

3. A horse shares hay with his friend, causes hearts to melt worldwide

This “aww”-inducing video was originally featured on Horses in the Morning’s Facebook page.

4. Itchy foals get resourceful

Reining wonder woman Stacy Westfall posted this charming video of foals scratching their bellies and butts on trees, shrubs, and other nearby objects.

5. Baby goats use a horse as a jungle gym

Mr. G proves that he is the world’s most tolerant horse and the best baby-sitter… I mean, kid-sitter.

6. Ollie the show-jumping foal shows off

At only 4 days old, little Ollie already knew what he wanted to be when he grew up. Watch him zoom and leap his way around a jumping arena under the watchful eye of his mother.

7. Emma and Cinnamon make their YouTube debut

Warning: watching this video of a little girl leading a gentle horse through the snow might cause you to make high-pitched sounds of adoration.

Happy New Year, and Go Riding!

In the land of Craigslist, equine appraisals doesn’t always make sense. A few examples:

Let’s start with this ad for a well-bred totally sound Grand Prix jumper for the low, low price of $4,000, sent in by reader Katie: “Hmm….”

On the other end of the spectrum, there’s this jumper who is allegedly either going to sell for $45,000 (negotiable!) or get sent to the slaughterhouse. From Lori: “I realize lots of good horses end up in bad places but a plea to spend $45k to save one (willing to negotiate notwithstanding)? Poor fella…”

Untitled

Save the horse please I love this horse and don’t want to see this beautiful horse go to a slather house he’s a perfect horse very gentle and calm. beautiful oldenburg their asking for $45000 but I grantee they will negotiate a price he’s a level 2 jumping prospect. They don’t want to send it to a slaughter but they can’t maintain it please someone save this horse

This one is “priced firm at $10,000” — good luck with that! From Brittany: “….’This is a steal.'”

unnamed

But really, this one takes the cake. Can you even put a price tag on the opportunity to lease a wingless Pegasus? From Brittany: “Do people think things like this are cute?”

UntitledButtercup is a real, live wingless Pegasus (picture with wings shows her inner self). She’s available for lease at an equally magical riding facility in Ridgeville for $300 per month, which is an outstanding deal for a wingless Pegasus.

If you are not familiar with the wingless Pegasi, here is some more info about them: They are sweet and tolerant and full of hope and wonderfulness. Sometimes, they fart rainbows (unfortunately Buttercup has yet to toot colors, but we’re hoping with the right lessor, she might).

One more head-scratcher from Gianina: “A seller who tells it like it is… Horse for sale, or ‘fat pig’ rather — lol, Best of Craigslist!!”
