The Idea of Order: Things I am Thankful For as an Equestrian

At least a few of them, anyhow.

Happy Thanksgiving, my friends! I have so much to be thankful for this year I don’t honestly know where to begin. Moving across the country really highlighted what a fabulous group of people I have in my life and just how privileged I am because of it.
(Pssst, you all are part of that group! I’m thankful also that you all continue to read this stuff, among other things.😆🥰)
This list is a rework, but it seems appropriate. Certainly it’s just the tip of the iceberg regarding things I’m thankful for, but it’s a start. 🙂 I hope you all have a wonderful time this holiday season with your friends and family, two-legged and four. ❤

Morgane Schmidt is a 38-year-old teacher/artist/dressage trainer/show announcer/ who still hasn’t quite decided what she wants to be when she grows up. A native Floridian, she spent a decade in Reno, NV, where she was able to confirm her suspicion that snow is utterly worthless (she has since regained her sense and moved back to the Florida swamp). Though she has run the gamut of equestrian disciplines, her favorite is dressage. She was recently able to complete her USDF bronze and silver medals and is currently working on her gold. Generally speaking her life is largely ruled by Woody, a 14.2 hand beastly quarter horse, Willie, a now beastly 10-year-old Dutch gelding, and Milona DG, a 4 year old KWPN chestnut mare (you can make your own inferences there…).
