Thursday Video: You Can Take the Farrier Out of the Barn…
… but you can’t take the barn out of the farrier.
‘Tis the season… to shoe literally anything. It’s safe to say your farrier has seen it all.
There are two types of horses in December:
- The ones who suddenly decide the hoof stand is a portal to another dimension,
and - The inflatable yard décor who stand quietly 100% of the time because they are, in fact…made of air.
In today’s Thursday Video, we present: A Farrier Rasping the Hoof of an Inflatable Christmas Decoration. Yes, really. Because sometimes you have to shoe the horse you have, not the horse you intend to have… even if that “horse” is a blow-up Santa pony who has never once kicked, fidgeted, or tried to taste the farrier’s tools.
A few observations from this groundbreaking moment in veterinary science and holiday cheer:
- The inflatable patient stood perfectly still, proving once and for all that the ideal client is filled with nothing but air and good vibes.
- Zero theatrics. Zero mud. Zero suspicious side-eye. Your move, real horses.
- Farriers everywhere just discovered the only “horse” who doesn’t immediately lose a shoe the day after it’s put on.
- This hoof was literally light as air, making this the easiest trim of the entire year.
- Onlookers reported 10/10 Christmas spirit and 0/10 loose manure in the aisle—another seasonal miracle.
So enjoy the video. Share it with your barn friends. Show it to your farrier as a gentle reminder that things could be easier.
And remember: in the winter wonderland of equestrian chaos, sometimes the most cooperative horse in the barn… comes from the holiday aisle at Home Depot.
Happy Thursday, Horse Nation. Go riding.
