The Idea of Order: Showing in July

Could equestrians be any more masochistic?

July showing is not for the weak, nevertheless, I firmly believe that you don’t get to complain about everything because then you’re just being a jerk. That being said, given my hatred for winter and all things cold, you will never hear me whine and mince about over the heat. I will, however, concede that it has been a bit ‘warm’ lately. ;)

Morgane Schmidt is a 36-year-old teacher/artist/dressage trainer/show announcer/ who still hasn’t quite decided what she wants to be when she grows up. A native Floridian, she now lives in Reno, NV, where she’s been able to confirm her suspicion that snow is utterly worthless. Though she has run the gamut of equestrian disciplines, her favorite is dressage. She was recently able to complete her USDF bronze and silver medals and is currently working on her gold. Generally speaking her life is largely ruled by Woody, a 14.2 hand beastly quarter horse, Willie, a now beastly 10-year-old Dutch gelding, and Milona DG, a 3 year old KWPN chestnut mare (you can make your own inferences there…).
