Thursday Video: When the GOAT Meets a Horse
Simone Biles takes a riding lesson — and we are HERE FOR IT.
There’s something universally delightful about watching world-class athletes step into our world — the barn world — and realizing just how tough horseback riding really is. And when that athlete happens to be none other than Olympic gymnastics legend Simone Biles, the moment becomes pure gold.
In a recent video, Biles takes a walk-trot lesson, gamely following her instructor’s cues and laughing as she admits just how hard and tiring riding is. For those of us who already know the unique combination of balance, strength, and coordination it takes to ride, her reaction hits home — and honestly, it’s nice to see someone who flips through the air for a living acknowledge that keeping rhythm at the trot is no small feat (and that vaulting on a horse is terrifying)!
We love seeing top-level athletes like Biles give horseback riding the credit it deserves. It’s a reminder that while horses make it look effortless, there’s a whole lot of muscle, timing, and grit behind every stride.
Welcome to the club, Simone — your equestrian muscles will catch up soon enough! Happy Thursday, and go riding!
