Fantasy Farm Friday: A Lush Jungle Oasis

This amazing estate boasts over 365 acres in Cimarrones Limón, the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. With two fully furnished homes and some pretty freaking amazing views, and stables with a lot of potential, this is one you won’t want to miss.

If there’s one thing equestrians love, it’s dreaming about bigger and better facilities. Who hasn’t been doing something around the barn and thought, “Man, if only I had [fill in the blank].” Our Fantasy Farm Friday pieces are dedicated to filling in that blank and giving us more fodder for our daydreams.

Today’s fantasy farm is a bit different than those we usually feature. Sure, it’s the stuff dreams are made of, but this one has its own rodeo arena and is situated just 45 minutes from the Caribbean coasts of Costa Rica. It’s over 365 acres, has two fully furnished houses, and stables that could be amazing with a little time and effort.

The main home is 5,000 square feet with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It includes a huge master bedroom on one side of the house with three bedrooms and a guest bathroom on the other side of the house. The tiled patio just invites quite morning coffee or wine in the evening.

Inside, there is original Spanish clay tile throughout the home with modern upgrades such as granite counters, stainless steel appliances, custom epoxy dining table, air conditioning units, brand new standing seam metal roof, and home security system. Remember that this property comes fully furnished. So you’ll walk in to a comfortable living room with two couches, side tables and coffee table. There is a brand new 65 inch smart tv along the wood entertainment center. The painting hung over the granite fireplace mantle is of the original farm house prior to the extensions and upgrades. An 18,000 btu air conditioning unit provides optional cooling for the living and kitchen area (not a bad idea since, you know, you’re in a jungle).

The kitchen is fully stocked with a stainless steel fridge, brand new SS stove and microwave, as well as all types of smaller kitchen appliances, besides the standard dinnerware. There is a breakfast bar along the granite counter, with three swiveling wooden stools. The cozy dining area hosts a custom wood/epoxy table and benches, which comfortably seats six people (with end chairs). It gives beautiful views into the backyard and corral, with a sliding door accessing the back patio to more storage and the laundry area.

Each bedroom offers plenty of privacy, with the master having a unique dual head rock shower, which is truly incredible!

The outdoor living space at this estate is incredible. There is an outdoor grill/kitchen set up, a pool, a pond, and — oh, you know — 365 acres on which to enjoy your horses.

The stables include 22 stalls as well as a 20,000 square foot rodeo ring. The ring is constructed of heavy grade steel with both American and Costa Rican style release gates for bulls. The stadium seating is built for 600+ people plus a VIP area with seating for 40 additional people. Each of the 22 stalls has running water and electricity, which make for a perfect boarding facility or a place to set up your own horses.

The farm has approximately 247 acres of improved pasture land with well-developed rich grasses ideal for livestock or farming. The grazing lands have been divided into a total of 10 fenced pastures so you can rotate your livestock between them regularly. With water and feed barrels already in place, and a small herd of purebred Brahman cattle that know their rotations, this farm truly is ready to go. The mountain pastures and jungles are all accessible via a maintained road that you can drive up by 4×4, or take the horses wandering through the many trails.

If this all doesn’t sound like enough, don’t forget about the guest house! Built in 2019, the custom guest house has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 800 square foot deck that overlooks the rain forest and river below.

There is fine detailed wood finishing throughout, wood look tile throughout, and exposed wood rafters. There are custom cedar doors and windows, and it is set up to take maximum advantage of the breezes. It is fully furnished, including a stocked kitchen with appliances. The charming living room includes a new smart tv connected to the available Wi-Fi.

The beautiful bathrooms have wonderful floor to ceiling tile, with a large rainfall shower head. Both bedrooms have queen beds, custom wood wardrobes, and new air condition units.

The spacious deck includes two hammocks, multiple seating areas, and is a perfect place for yoga or your morning coffee. Toucans frequently perch in the trees near the porch, and you can even spot monkeys on the edge of the forest near the river.

This guest house is perfect to rent out as a retreat or air b&b, or just let your family and friends enjoy the beautiful home and tranquility. Oh yeah. There’s also a zen garden.
