SmartPak Monday Morning Feed: 3 Matchy-Matchy Tack Sets That Will Haunt Your Dreams

Check out these three tack sets that will have you rushing to grab your wallet and place an order NOW.

If you’re a broke equestrian like me, you probably love to window shop. I could spend hours daydreaming about which matchy-matchy tack set I’d love to see on my horse. Instead of sugar plums, visions of SmartPak saddle pads dance in my head all night long. These three sets are no exception.

Periwinkle & Waterlily

Is anyone else undeniably influenced by the names of the colors? Who wouldn’t feel amazingly stylish and feminine trotting around in a saddle pad in the color “Waterlily with gold and silver rope.” This tack set is something fairies would wear.

I always choose the saddle pad first when I’m putting together matchy-matchy sets. For this round, our jumping off point is the SmartPak Deluxe Octagon & Diamond Dressage Saddle Pad in the aforementioned Waterlily color. One of my favorite things about this saddle pad is the specialized cut and padding that provides relief for high-withered horses (shark-finned thoroughbred owners raise your hands!).

Because I like to live life on the wild side, I didn’t pair this saddle pad with an exact color match when it came to the leg protection. Instead, I went with polo wraps in a beautifully soft dark periwinkle. Because the saddle pad has gold and silver metallic accents in the rope, you could also go with a metallic boot, such as these Dressage Sport Boots.

Finish off the look with the SmartPak Classic Ear Bonnet in dark periwinkle to perfectly match your polo wraps.

Plum & Mauve

I think a plum saddle pad looks good on any horse. There, I said it. Okay, except maybe chestnuts (sorry, redheads). But give me a bay, gray, black, pinto, palomino, or an appaloosa and I’ll hand you a rich plum saddle pad.

The SmartPak Luxe Collection All Purpose Saddle Pad in plum might be my favorite version of this classic color yet. I love a good satin sheen on my saddle pads and the slight shine in this fabric really brings out the richness of the plum color. Even better, this saddle pad has an eco-friendly bamboo inner lining that is naturally antibacterial, odor-reducing, moisture-wicking, and breathable.

I’m playing it safe with this tack set– SmartPak has a set of Luxe Polo Wraps and a Luxe Ear Bonnet in the exact same shade of plum. The matching polo wraps for this set also feature a satin detail in a lighter shade of mauve to match the trim on the saddle pad, while the anti-pill fleece comes in plum. The Luxe Ear Bonnet even has piping in the exact same shade of tan as the saddle pad, for a matchy-matchy look that will satisfy perfectionists everywhere.

Velvet & Pearls

If Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s rode a horse, this is the tack set that horse would be wearing. It’s the little black dress of the horse world, with the pearls to match. The SmartPak Velvet & Pearls Collection Saddle Pad features elegant black velvet with herringbone quilting, which is bordered by a rope and pearl trim that is just *chef’s kiss.*

The SmartPak Luxe Ear Bonnet is also part of the collection, with a perfectly matching pearl trim. SmartPak designers added just a little extra bling with a silver grommet detail that accentuates the slight shine from the pearls.

Since pearls and arena dirt don’t mix, finish off the look with the SmartPak Deluxe Fleece Lined Sport Boots in black. The slight shine of the polyurethane leather material will catch the light in much the same way as the pearl trim, while the soft faux-fur-look-alike fleece lining adds extra elegance, at least until your horse steps in a puddle.

SmartPak never lets us down when it comes to matchy-matchy tack sets. Whether you’re going for sophisticated, subtle, or absolute perfection, you can find what you’re looking for among the many many options on the SmartPak website.

Honestly, the fact that I didn’t just spend all my money on saddle pads is a pretty good achievement for the day (okay, I did spend just a bit…).

Go SmartPak and go riding!
