HN Holiday Carols: ‘Manes and Tails’

Here’s another classic Horse Nation holiday carol: “Manes and Tails” (sung to the tune of “Jingle Bells”)

Running through the fence,
No stopping anywhere in sight,
Through the high tinsel he goes,
My face turned pale and white.

The pony chased him out,
He thinks he rules the roost,
I’m putting the pony in the barn,
So my stress levels will be reduced!

Manes and tails, ponies are from hell,
My horse just got away!
I’ll be maxing out my credit cards,
On vet bills until next year this day!

On one day last week,
We went for a trail ride,
Before I could understand,
Funny Bunny B was off in flight.

My horse took off full speed;
That darn pony close behind;
He ran into tall thick weeds,
I lost my peace of mind!

Manes and tails, ponies are from hell,
My horse just got away!
I’ll be maxing out my credit cards,
On vet bills until next year on this day!

It seemed to be over,
Everything was going fine,
The pony was being sweet,
It’s like the stars aligned.

And then in a blink’s time,
The pony switched his mood,
He committed a foul crime,
And started a bloody feud!

Manes and tails, ponies are from hell,
My horse just got away!
I’ll be maxing out my credit cards,
On vet bills until next year on this day!

Now the barn is red,
Along with my angered sight,
Smoke is coming from my ears,
I’m through being polite.

I chased the pony out,
But he snorted and stood his ground,
He chased me all throughout,
And now I’m Med-Express bound.

Manes and tails, ponies are from hell,
My horse just got away!
I’ll be maxing out my credit cards,
On medical bills until next year on this day!
