Best of JN: Vote for Lindy Gutman in the Real Rider Cup!

Catch up with Lindy Gutman and vote for her for The Real Rider Cup.

This week’s Best of Jumper Nation catches up with Retired Racehorse Project blogger Lindy Gutman and her horse, Talk Show Man. They’re entered in The Real Rider Cup and need your vote! Click on to give them your vote as they raise funds for OTTB nonprofits.

I participated in the Real Rider Cup this year with my 2020 Retired Racehorse Project Makeover mount, Talk Show Man. I decided to participate to raise money for OTTBs and Thoroughbred aftercare since this year’s Retired Racehorse Project Thoroughbred Makeover has been postponed.

We had to raise at least $1,000 to even participate and I have raised $1,710 so far.

If you follow local Maryland racing, you may know Talk Show Man.  He’s a multiple stakes winner that was owned and bred by local veterinarian Dr Mike Harrison. He won almost $500,000 on the racetrack, ran in the Maryland Million five times, and won the Maryland Million Turf race twice.

Voting is free, and you can vote every day!

My videos, both of me jumping my course and my bio video are under my rider profile on the website.  Please feel free to share with any friends that you have that you think might be willing to help me with a vote or two!

Here’s the link to vote!

Thanks so much, in advance, for your vote!

About the Real Rider Cup
Designed specifically to showcase Off The Track Thoroughbreds (OTTBs), the competition was held in conjunction with Plantation Field International Horse Trials in 2017 and 2018. This crowd-pleasing celebrity charity event changed venues in 2019 and served as the kick-off for the Fair Hill Thoroughbred Show which followed on September 21-22. The 2019 Real Rider Cup participants included a number of racing industry personalities – jockeys, members of the media, “Racing Kids” who grew up in the sport, sidesaddle riders and representatives from world-class breeding farms. Teams competed against each other over a course of show jumping fences to determine the “real riders.” Each competitor pledged to raise at least $1,000, which directly supported beneficiaries – the Retired Racehorse Project, New Vocations and The Fair Hill Thoroughbred Show.

The 2020 Real Rider Cup is being held as a virtual event; beneficiaries once again are the Retired Racehorse Project, New Vocations and The Fair Hill Thoroughbred Show.
