Wild Horse Haiku

Horse life in 17 syllables.

The Joy of Being. Photo by Kisa Kavass.

Horse Nation reader Sharon Strong Carmichael sent us this lovely haiku, inspired by wild horses. Sharon is a poet/artist who plans to write a book for elementary children. Having never written a haiku, she wanted to engage in this mind-stretching activity. Take it away, Sharon!

Wild horse running free

Must not cage, must not contain

Heaven is its soul.
