Gram of the Day from @howtohorsemom. ・・・ Passion ✨⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I grew up as a competitive figure skater, training 5-6 days a week, plus off-ice training. ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I left school early multiple days a week & did my homework in the car, to and from the rink (we trained an hour away from home). I ate most of my suppers from a Tupperware container, during a 15 minute Zamboni break.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I know what it is to be passionate & disciplined and the sacrifices that come with it. I know it’s only possible to truly dedicate your life to something, and put all of yourself into it, if you truly love it. ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣When I quit skating at 17 it was the beginning of a very difficult phase in my life. Although, I was ready to move on, skating was my identity for as long as I could remember. I didn’t know who I was without skating and felt a huge void. Loving something wholly is so special & when it’s gone, it’s hard to reestablish a sense of self. ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After leaving skating, I honestly never thought I’d find something that fulfilled me and incited so much passion & work ethic within me, ever again; I thought that ship had sailed.⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But then I took my first riding lesson; & I suppose you know the rest of the story… #goriding
