Classic Equine is now making PPE masks for first responders.
Every week Horse Nation teams up with Ovation Riding to recognize those doing good in the horse world. This week we recognize Classic Equine.
“A horse gallops with his lungs, perseveres with his heart and wins with his character.” ~Federico Tesio
As we’ve noted in a previous article, one of the best things to come out of the COVID-19 pandemic has been seeing the good that individuals and companies have been doing to help out one another. Seeing companies shift their focus to fill the gaps in the dwindling supplies of PPE (personal protective equipment — not pre-purchase exam, as most equestrians assume) and medical equipment has been reassuring and restorative. It has underscored the strength of character of many in our community.
One of the companies working to do good for everyone — not just those in the horse community — is Classic Equine. On Wednesday, March 25th, they adjusted their sewing machines. The machines, which are most often used to stitch thick felt, wool and leather — are now being put to a more delicate use. They have gone from making equestrian accessories to making PPE masks for first responders.
According to Classic Equine’s Facebook post, “We have a wonderful team here with years of experience and they wasted no time, diving into the much needed new venture. We are focused on quality and consistency because that’s what we have always strived to do. We will be constructing as many PPE masks as possible, which will be donated to our own Hood, Erath and any other surrounding county first responders in need. We are all in this together, and together we will prevail.”
So, this week we offer Classic Equine a standing ovation for their willingness to adapt to the needs of and dedication to their community.
Go Classic Equine and go riding!
Many thanks thanks to Ovation Riding for their support of both Horse Nation and individuals and organizations that are doing good work in the horse world. If you know someone who deserves a Standing Ovation, we would love to recognize them in a future post. Email the name of the person or organization along with a message about the good work they do to [email protected]. Photos/videos are always welcome, and include a link to their website if applicable.
