Horse Vet Corner is a Facebook group dedicated to answering equine medical questions. However, sometimes they address questions that pertain to other mammals in the animal kingdom.

This year, a couple of savvy horse kids thought long and hard about the ramifications of all those sweet treats that get left out for Santa’s reindeer — and they came up with a very valid question. What about laminitis? Will the excessive amounts of sugar lead to founder in our beloved Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and — of course — Rudolph?

Fortunately, the veterinarians of Horse Vet Corner assured us that not only are Santa’s reindeer in tip-top shape, but also the vets will be at the ready to assist as necessary:

It’s good to know that, no matter what the need, the highly skilled team of E.L.V.E.S. will be on call around the globe to help Santa and his reindeer.

Merry Christmas Eve, Horse Nation!
