Clipping With a Twist

Jillian Scott clips horses with a twist – literally!

Although horse clipping may have with a practical purpose in mind (keeping a horse comfortable while under heavy work after its grown its winter coat), some clipping services have turned it into an art.

A prime example is Jillian Scott’s “Celtic Clip.” She created this masterpiece as an homage to the Celtic goddess Epona, the protector of horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules.

Even though I have not had the occasion to clip my horses or have them clipped, this is making me thinking about the dusty clippers on the shelf and eye up the whiskery and hairy horses in my field.
