Another winter, another team of draft horses pulling a hapless car out of a snowy ditch. Thank goodness for the gentle giants.

You can outfit it with four-wheel drive, special tires, and all the bells and whistles you can imagine, but sometimes winter is still too much for the marvel of modern technology that is the automobile (okay, that’s probably largely due to pilot error, but still). As long as there are draft horses, there will be draft horses pulling stuck cars out of the snow, in a clever how-the-tables-have-turned moment in which it’s safe to say that the horses are probably getting the last laugh.
