Thursday Video: Easy Horse Care in Spain

Take a peek into the day-to-day life at Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre, Spain’s only equine rescue!

Operated by Sue and Rod Weeding and a past Horse Nation Standing Ovation honoree, Easy Horse Care of Rojales is Spain’s first and currently only horse rescue, making a real and substantial difference in the lives of horses and other rescued animals in the Alicante region. With a rescue ready to take on neglect or cruelty cases, law enforcement has shown more willingness to act in recent years, changing lives for the better.

Easy Horse Care typically takes legally-seized horses and other animals from abusive situations — such as starvation, physical injury or neglect. Occasionally the rescue will also take in strays or owner surrenders. Easy Horse Care receives no government funding at all, so the entire rescue operates based on donations as well as what money it can raise through charity shops and special fundraisers.
