19 Reader-Submitted Mare Glares: Special Divisions
With over 100 entries for our Mare Glare Challenge, we decided to split the class … for everyone’s safety. Next up: category winners!
This week’s 24-hour photo challenge received an overwhelming response of outrageous mare glares from every corner of Horse Nation. There were just too many good ones to pass up, so we decided to split the class and create a few special divisions in addition to the Open Mare Glare. Don’t miss the Best of Show collection yet to come!
Mare Glare: Broodmare Division

Runner-up, Juliana Katherine Davison: “My mare suprising her filly with “the glare” obviously teaching her a valuable trick for her future!”

Reserve Champion, Kristin Case: “She was extremely pregnant and incredibly grumpy. Lol didn’t want to come in and especially didn’t want me to fix her neck strap”

Champion, Anna Hall: “Country Cafè is protective of her new foal, you can see a bit of him in the pic, but she can give a hateful mare glare for any ole reason really.”
Mare Glare: Pony Division

Runner-up, Carrie Torre: “My childhood pony, Twinkle’s, favorite kind of glare. The “Na-Na no more riding for you today” face. This always happens at the end of any ride on her.”

Champion, Erin Murphy: “This is Barbie, Phyllis Jenkins Myers’ chestnut mare pony (3 words that should never be in the same sentence if you want a nice go with the flow pony). This is her patented #mareglare.”
Mare Glare: Filly Division
Runner-up:

Reserve Champion, Rachel Rosenthal: “The day my weanling gave me full on mare glare, because I had told her there was a cookie in my hand in order to give her kisses, and THERE WASN’T”
Mare Glare: Jenny Division
Mare Glare: Multiple Mares Division (heaven help these owners)
Champion:
