First Ever HN Book Giveaway!

Feeling the winter chill? Enter to win these hot-off-the-press horsey reads.

Here’s HN book reviewer Erin McCabe with the details:

Besides Christmas, the only thing that saves Winter — my least favorite season — with its short dreary days, mud encrusted horses, and frozen water troughs, is that it gives me a chance to curl up under a blanket and read. Hopefully this holiday season you managed to snag some of great horse-y reads (not to brag, but I got Modern Eventing with Phillip Dutton and you know I’ll be reviewing it soon). However,  just in case you didn’t, Horse Nation is here to help with the perfect bracing liniment!

Over the course of 2014, I was lucky enough to receive several extra Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs) of some of the books I reviewed. Now, ARCs aren’t exactly the fanciest looking books on the shelf — think reliable grade gelding with a few quirks. They’re publisher’s proofs, which means there may be errors or differences between them and the final book (those quirks I mentioned above) and they look like very utilitarian paperbacks. But hey! They’re limited editions! They’re collectible! They’re absolutely serviceably sound! And, having read each of these books, I can promise you, they’re good rides.

The books up for grabs in the First Ever Horse Nation Giveaway are:

Branded by Colette Auclair: 2 copies

The Hawley Book of the Dead by Chrysler Szarlan: 1 copy

The Duel for the Crown by Linda Carroll and David Rosner: 1 copy

HOW TO ENTER

Good news! Entering our drawing for the giveaway is way less complicated than filling out horse show entry forms. All you have to do is let us know in the comments the title of your favorite horse book (fiction, non-fiction, book-of-the-year, book-of-your-life, you name it!) We’ll draw four commenters’ names out of a helmet and post the winners’ names here on Horse Nation next Tuesday, January 20. The winners will email me their addresses and voila! In a few weeks, an ARC will appear in your mailbox to brighten your winter.

Good luck Horse Nation! May the odds be ever in your favor!
