Country Star Miranda Lambert Rides… English?
I’m probably not alone in assuming a country singer would ride Western, so imagine my surprise when I came across photos of Miranda Lambert decked out in English riding gear.
Miranda is no stranger to horses — she’s a lifelong animal lover and animal welfare advocate who has horses at her Oklahoma farm and has dabbled in barrel racing.
But it turns out Miranda is new to the English world and recently purchased two Welsh ponies, Ellie and Saith. She went to her first Oklahoma Kansas Welsh Pony Society horse show this past weekend.
It’s pretty fantastic to have such a popular figure as Miranda making it look totally normal and cool to wear riding clothes — not to mention unknowingly supporting #mindyourmelon — so I’d like to officially welcome her to the horse community.

In an interview with The Horse Channel, Miranda explained, “When I’m riding, it clears my head and I’m able to write better music. I love being outside. It’s always good to get away from the computer and cell phone and just enjoy being with my horses.”
