Monday already is the crappiest day of the week, so it only makes sense that we make things official. Here’s our latest “oh crap” moment.
It starts like the kind of moment rodeo riders dream about: the crowd roaring, adrenaline peaking, and the rider riding the high, launches into a backflip off the fence like he’s invincible for a split second. Time slows, the landing almost heroic… and then reality clocks back in at full speed. Outrider horses come charging through to do their job, except now he’s directly in the wrong place at the worst time, and suddenly that victory lap turns into a full-contact lesson in gravity and poor timing. One second he’s floating on the best feeling in the world and the next he’s getting steamrolled, wondering how a highlight-reel moment turned into a “maybe let’s not watch that again” situation. It’s the fastest emotional 180 imaginable: from king of the arena to human speed bump in under five seconds.

Don’t worry, folks. Tampa Bay Rodeo officials have confirmed that rider TK McNair is doing fine. And it appears he’s been enjoying the comments accompanying the social media posts showing the event.
