I Spy Horses: Hollywood, Florida
During my adventures and travels I always take photos of the horse-related items I see along the way. Enjoy these photos of horse-related pieces spotted while traveling around Hollywood, Florida.
Exploring the area around Hollywood, I started noticing horses quietly showing up in unexpected places, etched into art pieces, sculpted into décor, and woven into the character of local shops and spaces. Some of these photos were taken in Hollywood, while others come from nearby Miami and Fort Lauderdale, which frame Hollywood perfectly between them. Together, these areas create a visual blend of coastal culture and creative expression, where equine imagery feels both intentional and serendipitous, almost like the horse world leaving subtle fingerprints throughout South Florida.
Florida itself has deep roots tied to horses. Long before the beaches and boulevards, the state was shaped by cattle, cowhands, and open land. Horses always have been part of Florida’s story, even if it now shows up in more artistic and symbolic ways. Seeing these horse-related items scattered between palm trees, pastel buildings, and ocean air feels like a reminder that the spirit of the horse adapts wherever it goes, whether that’s a rural pasture or a sun-soaked city street.

This was a super cool mural to see on the side of a building.
A little horse-related sticker in a big city.
This was an old piece in a monastery. I will say, the art does not do the horse justice. Probably one of the ugliest horse pieces I’ve ever come across…but, it’s history.
This piece would have been so much more magnificent if the mane and tail plants were longer vines to really depict a full mane and tail.
The picture does not do this monument justice. This pegasus was HUGE. You can kind of tell by how much bigger it is in relation to the trees.
Here was another piece at the monastery. This one was built into the wall which was neat.
Here’s some horse graffiti that was on the sidewalk.
Lastly, this was the sign of a store or restaurant. There wasn’t a name, just this logo.
