‘Oh Crap’ Monday: No Rider, No Problem
Monday already is the crappiest day of the week, so it only makes sense that we make things official. Here’s our latest “oh crap” moment.
This skijoring run manages to one-up the Monday morning blues.
In today’s installment of Commitment Was Made, the horse decides mid-run that this situation is not for him… or at least that the rider isn’t. There’s a buck, a launch, and suddenly the rider is no longer part of the equation. The horse continues on his way while the skier — still attached, still upright, still skiing — keeps going. No rider. Just a skier, a tow line, and the horse continuing along the track.
Here’s the question we need answered: does the run still count if the rider is off but the skier and horse finish anyway? Because technically, the objective was achieved. Forward motion happened. A finish line was crossed.

This might be worse than realizing it’s Monday morning. Monday at least gives you coffee and the illusion of control. This? This is finding out the horse has boundaries, the skier does not, and physics is merely a suggestion. Ten out of ten for commitment. Zero out of ten for dignity.
Go forth and tackle your Monday, Horse Nation.
