‘Oh Crap’ Monday: When the Bull Loses the Battle but Wins the War

Monday already is the crappiest day of the week, so it only makes sense that we make things official. Here’s our latest “oh crap” moment.

Some bulls buck their riders off mid-ride. Others? They play the long game.

Meet the four-legged strategist of the rodeo world — Darkside, a bull who couldn’t quite unseat his rider, Everton Natan Da Silva, during the official ride. Everton stuck it out, held on like a champ, and made it through the buzzer. You could practically see Darkside thinking, “Alright, you win this round, cowboy.”

But revenge, as it turns out, is a dish best served with horns.

As Everton dismounted and perched on the rail — basking in that glorious “I just made eight seconds” glow — Darkside doubled back like a cartoon villain with unfinished business. With perfect timing (and a touch of dramatic flair), the bull zeroed in, and delivered a swift, vengeful reminder that in his arena, no one walks away without consequences.

Fortunately, Everton’s fine — just a little more humble and probably a lot more cautious about where he celebrates. T

Moral of the story? You might win the ride, but the bull always gets the last word… or in this case, the last bump.

Go forth and tackle your Monday, Horse Nation.
