‘Oh Crap’ Monday: Foaling Season Is Not for the Faint of Heart

Monday already is the crappiest day of the week, so it only makes sense that we make things official. Here’s our latest “oh crap” moment.

There are so many things to love about foaling season. Long-legged colts standing for the first time, looking so wobbly and huggable. Tons of photos of the cute little things flooding social media. It’s almost enough to convince some of us to run out and breed our fire-breathing dragons.

Almost.

But make no mistake, Horse Nation. Foaling season is not for the faint of heart. You may have a cute little bundle that nuzzles it’s mama and then bounds around the pasture. But what about those not-so-cute, heart attack-inducing moments? So much can go wrong. Like this oh crap moment when the colt’s dam decides to ROLL ON HIM and then get cast.

Fortunately, everyone is okay. But if this isn’t an oh crap moment, we don’t know what is.

Go forth and tackle your Monday, Horse Nation.
