As part of their many free resources to help keep horse owners in the know, SmartPak has a regular series called Ask the Saddle Fitter. It features Kate Ballard, Professional Saddle Fitter and member of the Society of Master Saddlers.

In this episode, Kate answers a viewer question about how to tell if your saddle fits your horse. Kate gives advice on things you can check on your horse:

• Is the saddle too far forward or backward?
• Is it too long or short?
• Is it too wide?
• How is the balance?

She also offers a couple of tips to help you out along the way.
