NFR Experience: 6 of Our Favorite Vendors From Cowboy Christmas

Cowboy Christmas isn’t just something you attend, it’s something you experience. And we weren’t going to miss that opportunity while we were in Vegas for the Wrangler NFR.

Cowboy Christmas is the ultimate western lifestyle marketplace held annually in Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). Hosted at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Cowboy Christmas brings together hundreds of vendors (well over 400) from across the country, showcasing everything from custom western gear and art to fashion, home décor, food, and one-of-a-kind handmade pieces. It’s free to attend, family-friendly, and has become just as much a part of NFR week as the rodeo itself.

This year, we spent our time not only shopping, but also connecting: interviewing vendors who stood out for their creativity, craftsmanship, hospitality, and the passion behind their brands. Here’s a recap of a few that truly left an impression.

Western Artist Tobias Sauer

Tobias Sauer’s booth felt less like a vendor space and more like a western art gallery. Known for his striking pieces, Tobias captures the raw emotion, grit, and quiet power of the western way of life — from cowboys and horses to western scenery. Each piece tells a story, and you can feel the hours of discipline and intention in every stroke. Tobias himself is just as engaging as his work, openly sharing his process and passion with anyone who stops by. His art isn’t just something you hang on a wall—it’s something you feel.

Surtierra Tequila

At Cowboy Christmas, Surtierra Tequila wasn’t just another spirits booth — it was a brand with heart and purpose. Born from the legacy of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, Surtierra isn’t only about crafting smooth, 100% agave tequila; every bottle sold directly supports educational opportunities for Texas youth. Proceeds go to scholarship funds and programs that help Texas students pursue academic and agricultural excellence, meaning each sip contributes to someone’s future.

What struck us most talking with the team behind Surtierra was their passion for giving back. They shared how their involvement goes beyond flavor. They champion education and community events throughout Texas, partnering with organizations and hosting tastings that benefit scholarship initiatives. Whether you enjoyed a sample at their booth or learned about their mission, it was clear that Surtierra stands for something bigger than tequila — it stands for investing in the next generation of Texans.

Josh Andrews Saddles

At Cowboy Christmas, Josh Andrews Saddles stood out as a booth full of passion-driven craftsmanship and western performance gear. Josh isn’t just a saddle maker — he’s a barrel racer himself, which gives him an intimate understanding of what riders need for success in and out of the arena. His saddles are designed with performance, comfort, and rider connection in mind, thoughtfully balancing structure with mobility to help both horse and rider perform at their best.

What made speaking with Josh especially memorable this year was hearing about his contribution to the WPRA Saddle Rotation Program at the NFR. As part of this cherished tradition, where custom saddles are donated to honor the top women barrel racers of the season, Josh Andrews was selected to build one of the qualifying saddles presented at the NFR. This year, his work was gifted to one of the elite competitors, Lisa Lockhart.

Josh told us how meaningful it was to craft something worthy of a champion like Lisa, blending traditional craftsmanship with his own insights and building a piece both functional and symbolic of that year’s hard-fought season. Seeing the pride with which he talks about his saddles, and the way riders light up when they sit in one, makes it clear: this isn’t just tack — it’s a tribute to dedication and genuine love for the sport.

Whether you’re shopping for a personalized saddle or just soaking in the craftsmanship, Josh Andrews Saddles is a booth that feels like home to the horse-loving crowd — and a reminder of how much heart goes into the tools of the trade.

HW Brand

One booth that turned heads in a unique way was HW Brand. Not because they were selling the typical handcrafted goods you see at Cowboy Christmas, but because they bring a fresh perspective to western living by reimagining rugged ranch materials into functional pieces that feel right at home in every kind of space. At its core, HW Brand is known for heavy-duty stock tanks and livestock equipment — rugged galvanized steel troughs and tanks built to last in the toughest ranch conditions.

What made their booth stand out this year was seeing how those same stock tanks, originally designed for watering livestock and built with durable, welded, corrugated steel, have become the foundation for creative furniture and décor. Whether folks are using them as coffee tables, outdoor seating, planters, or even rustic chic bathtubs and pools, the HW Brand pieces were a conversation starter about how western tools of the trade can be transformed into everyday lifestyle pieces that blend function with farmhouse flair.

Talking with the team, you could tell there’s real pride in their roots making products built for ranchers and horse lovers. It’s that mix of rugged heritage and imaginative reinvention that gave their booth a little extra spark at Cowboy Christmas this year.

BJ Rummerfield Designs

One of the real discoveries at Cowboy Christmas this year was BJ Rummerfield Designs, a woodworking small business rooted in handcrafted, custom furniture that blends rustic charm with functional artistry. BJ Rummerfield Design’s work spans everything from live edge slabs and custom wooden tables to bespoke pieces that transform spaces with both natural beauty and utility. Their designs celebrate wood’s organic character, showcasing grain, texture, and form in ways that feel timeless yet personal.

What made the booth stand out wasn’t just the quality of their pieces, though each one reflects thoughtful craftsmanship, but the connection between the maker and the material. You could tell that every item had a story behind it, not just in its construction but in the way Anthony talks about woodworking as a craft, a passion, and a way of creating heirlooms that hold meaning for the people who bring them home. BJ Rummerfield Designs represents that sweet spot where function meets fine artistry in furniture making.

Whether it was a rugged live edge dining table or a smooth, elegant accent piece, the craftsmanship on display invited visitors to imagine these works in their own homes — pieces that will become part of everyday life and treasured for years to come.
