LA28 Olympic Ticket Registration Opens Today

If watching the Olympics in person has ever been on your bucket list, now is the time to act.
Registration for the ticket draw for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games officially opens today, January 14, at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
This isn’t ticket sales yet — but it is the first required step if you want a shot at buying tickets when they do go on sale.
What Is the LA28 Ticket Draw?
Anyone hoping to purchase Olympic tickets must first register for the LA28 ticket draw at tickets.LA28.org. Registering puts your name into a randomized draw that assigns time slots to buy tickets during future sales windows.
Think of it as securing your place in line … except the line order is determined by luck.
Registration is open from January 14 through March 18, 2026, and there is no cost or obligation to purchase tickets when you register.
What Happens After You Register?
Once you’re registered:
- You’ll be entered into a random draw for a ticket-purchasing time slot
- Time slots for the general public will begin rolling out in April 2026
- Over 3 million tickets will be available during the first ticket window
- If you’re selected, you’ll be notified up to 48 hours before your assigned purchase time
Residents of the eight host counties in California and Oklahoma will also be eligible for an early-access local presale, running from April 2–6.
How Much Will Tickets Cost?
Ticket prices will start at $28 USD, and every sport, discipline, and session will be available for purchase.
A few important fine-print details:
- Each account is limited to 12 Olympic tickets
- Visa will be the official and exclusive payment method for ticket sales
What About the Equestrian Events?
Yes, horse sports are very much part of the plan — and the schedule is already set.
Equestrian competition at the LA28 Games will run July 15–29, 2028, at Santa Anita Park, with disciplines broken down as follows:
- Eventing: July 15–19
- Dressage: July 20–24
- Show Jumping: July 24–29
With venues and the broader Olympic schedule already announced, fans can realistically start planning travel, lodging, and which days they want to prioritize — especially for disciplines that tend to sell out quickly.
A Very Big Olympic Games
The LA28 Olympics are shaping up to be the huge, featuring:
- 36 sports
- 51 disciplines
- 49 competition venues
- Events spread across 18 zones in the Los Angeles region and Oklahoma City
The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for July 14, 2028, with the Closing Ceremony on July 30, 2028.
What About the Paralympics?
Tickets for the Paralympic Games, which will take place August 15–27, 2028, will go on sale separately in 2027.
The bottom line is this: If you want any chance of sitting ringside for Olympic-level dressage, holding your breath through cross-country, or watching show jumpers make gravity feel optional, you need to register.
Registration doesn’t guarantee tickets, but not registering guarantees you won’t get them.

Future You, sitting in the stands in 2028, will be glad you did.
