Wrangler National Finals Rodeo: Night Ten Recap and Overall Champions
Last night was the tenth night of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, presented by Teton Ridge. Here are the round, average, and world standings after the final round!
Night 10 of the NFR is is the last night, the final runs, the closing chapter of a 10 days that have been nonstop. Every athlete knows exactly what’s on the line, and it shows in the focus, the moments before the gate opens, and the way the crowd cheers. There’s no easing into it, night 1o is all about finishing what was started.
The energy in the arena was exciting and emotional, with a few light moments mixed in because rodeo people wouldn’t have it any other way. Some were chasing titles, some were protecting hard-earned spots, and others were simply taking in the moment knowing how hard it was to get here. The final night was a reminder that the NFR isn’t just about one ride or one run, it’s about ten nights of effort, resilience, and showing up, all wrapped up in one unforgettable finish.
Bareback Riding
The last night of bareback riding rounded up ten nights of intensity, effort, and commitment all coming to a close in eight-second bursts. You could tell how much this final ride meant to every cowboy nodding his head for the last time this week. There was focus, emotion, and determination that comes from knowing there are no do-overs left.
What made it special was how each ride carried the weight of the entire NFR. Some were swinging for the fences, others were protecting what they’d built all week, but every rider left it all in the arena. When the final chute closed, it felt like a respectful pause, fans soaking it in and riders tipping their hats, because bareback riding has a way of reminding everyone how much heart and toughness it takes to make it through all ten nights.

Steer Wrestling
The final night of steer wrestling brought everything into focus, ten nights of preparation, precision, and pressure distilled into a few fast seconds. You could feel how much each run mattered. Every cowboy came out knowing this was the last chance to make it count, and that urgency showed in the way they attacked the run from the barrier to the finish.
What stood out most was the respect for the moment. Some were going all-in, others were guarding hard-earned standings, but every competitor showed exactly why they belong on this stage. When the last steer was turned it felt like a proper closing chapter.

Team Roping
The final night of team roping was a true test of trust and timing, the kind that only shows up after ten long nights under the lights. You could see how locked in each team was: every nod deliberate, every move calculated, because there were no extra chances left. One clean run could change everything, and one small miss could undo a week’s worth of work.
What made it especially meaningful was the way partners leaned on each other in those last moments. Some teams were swinging big, others were protecting their spot, but all of them roped with intention and purpose. When the final run was over, it marked the end of a demanding week where teamwork truly carried the night.

Saddle Bronc Riding
The last night of saddle bronc riding was less about proving something and more about finishing the job. By the time the chutes opened, every rider knew exactly where they stood and what the next eight seconds needed to be. There was confidence in the arena, mixed with just enough nerves to remind you how much was still on the line.
Watching it live, the rides carried a different tone. Some were smooth and methodical, others aggressive and all-in, but every one of them showed intention. Saddle bronc has a way of closing the NFR with class, and night ten was a fitting reminder of that.

Tie-Down Roping
Tie-down roping on the final night took focus. From the break of the barrier to the final tie, every movement was sharpened by ten nights of experience and pressure. There was no wasted motion, no extra drama, just purpose. Some runs were fast and fearless, others careful and controlled, but all of them reflected the weight of the week. When the last rope was tied, it closed a long, ten day chapter.

Barrel Racing
The last night of barrel racing was emotional in a loud, exciting way. The competitors knew the arena, the ground, and the possibilities, but it was touching to see the partnership between horse and rider. You could see the trust in every approach to the first barrel and the commitment through the final turn, knowing this was the last time they’d make that run in this building this year.
Some runs were bold, some were careful, and some were simply about finishing strong, but all of them carried the weight of the week. When the final horse crossed the timer, the crowd remained excited because something special had just ended. Barrel racing closed the NFR the way it often does: fast, emotional, and leaving you wanting just one more run.

Bull Riding
The final night of bull riding felt like the punctuation mark at the end of the NFR: loud, and impossible to ignore. There was tension in the building with every rider who nodded his head, knowing there were no second chances left. Some rides were all-in, some were calculated, but every one of them carried the weight of ten nights under the lights.
When the last bull left the arena, the crowd lingered, the cheers stuck around a little longer, and the moment settled in. Bull riding closed the NFR boldly and leaving everyone aware they just witnessed the end of something special.

NFR Average Winners
The NFR Average Title goes to the cowboy or cowgirl who proves they can bring it every single night. It’s awarded to the competitor with the best cumulative performance—fastest overall time or highest total score—across all 10 rounds at the National Finals Rodeo. In other words, it crowns the most consistent athlete of the 10-day grind, with major prize money on the line and a serious boost to their world standings.
- Bareback Riding: Sam Peterson
- Steer Wrestling: Tucker Allen
- Team Roping: Andrew Ward/Jake Long
- Saddle Bronc Riding: Statler Wright
- Tie-Down Roping: Riley Webb
- Barrel Racing: Julie Plourde
- Bull Riding: T.J. Gray
Here are your 2025 Wrangler NFR World Champions:
WPRA and PRCA world championships are decided by money won, plain and simple. Athletes earn prize money all season long at sanctioned rodeos, and those earnings determine the world standings. At the end of the regular season, the top 15 money-earners in each event qualify for their sport’s championship finals—where everything is on the line.
For most events, that means Las Vegas. PRCA competitors in roughstock and timed events, along with the WPRA’s top barrel racers, head to the National Finals Rodeo (NFR), while the top 15 breakaway ropers compete at the National Finals Breakaway Roping (NFBR), held alongside the NFR. Steer roping crowns its champion separately at the National Finals Steer Roping (NFSR).
The finals matter because the money is big. Athletes can earn checks in each of the 10 go-rounds, plus the event average, and those earnings are added to their regular-season totals. When the dust settles, the competitor with the most money won for the year is crowned World Champion.
The All-Around World Champion titles—one cowboy and one cowgirl—go to the athletes who earn the most money overall while competing in at least two events, meeting minimum earnings requirements in each. It’s the ultimate test of versatility, grit, and season-long consistency.
Here are the champions:
