‘Oh Crap’ Monday: Now THAT’S One Grand Entry
When a rodeo queen’s lap turns into an accidental bronc ride, the crowd gets a whole lot more than a flag wave.
Monday already is the crappiest day of the week, so it only makes sense that we make things official. Here’s our latest “oh crap” moment.
There’s nothing like a rodeo grand entry: patriotic music, glimmering sequins, perfectly groomed horses, and… one rodeo queen accidentally auditioning for the bronc riding later that evening.
During this flag ceremony, the queens came cantering in, carrying their flags with the poise of seasoned cowgirl royalty — except for one poor soul whose mount decided it would rather be one of the broncs.
What followed was less “elegant, synchronized pageantry” and more “eight-second qualifying run with glitter.” The horse launched into a dramatic series of bucks, spins, yee-haws, and interpretive dance moves that could’ve unseated most riders.
But here’s the best part — our rodeo queen?
She. Did. Not. Budge.
She stuck it. Seat glued. Flag flying until nearly the end. Hair and hat somehow still in place. While her horse channeled every bronc in the back pens, she sat deep, rode it out, and brought the horse back under control like the seasoned pro she is.
Long live the queens.
Go forth and tackle your Monday, Horse Nation.
