‘Oh Crap’ Monday: Food Coma Remorse

Monday already is the crappiest day of the week…

… so it only makes sense that we make things official. Here’s our latest “oh crap” moment.

Have you ever had one of those moments when you sat down to an amazing meal or incredible snack and you enjoy every second of it, but then, once you’ve finished and you’re in a solid food coma, you realize that you have made a big mistake?

We imagine that’s the exact feeling this horse had once it was being lifted out of the barn and down to the ground.

To be fair, we doubt this horse’s remorse had anything to do with what it ate, and had a lot more to do with how it had to be extracted from the smorgasbord it found in the hay loft. 😬

The post from Horse Lover reports:

“On a Sunday evening in Virginia, Holly the horse was relaxing in her barn when she noticed that another animal had dislodged the door to the stairwell. Being a smaller horse, the inquisitive Holly decided to squeeze her way up the stairs, leading her to a treasure trove of snacks: the hayloft.

“Holly happily nibbled on the large bales of hay, thrilled to have discovered a way to access the feed. However, her joy quickly turned to concern when she attempted to make her way back down.”

Holly’s owner found her stranded in the loft and called the Little Fork Volunteer Technical Large Animal Rescue Team for help.

“You really can’t make this stuff up,” said Chief Doug Monaco from the Little Fork Volunteer Technical Large Animal Rescue Team. “Animals often find themselves in the most amusing predicaments.”

Holly was just fine, but definitely didn’t appreciate the 20-foot high tractor ride.

Talk about an “oh crap” moment…
