2025 Meadowlands Pace Preview
The stage is set and the lights are bright at The Meadowlands for one of harness racing’s most electrifying nights—the 2025 Meadowlands Pace! HorseDoc® Dr. Gregory A. Beroza offers this preview.

If you’ve never seen a Standardbred race, this will be one for the record books. The Meadowlands Pace is a yearly premier of North America’s best 3-year-old pacers (harness horses), trainers and drivers. They will be facing off on one night in at the prominent New Jersey racetrack. The $656,000 Meadowlands Pace on July 12th will be an extraordinary shoot-out of talent.

Louprint is considered to be the best in his class anywhere in the world. However, he scratched on 7/7/25 after needing emergency surgery. There are several other exceptional contestants, anyone of which has potential for an explosive winning performance. The WuzUpDoc® Media original broadcast referenced Louprint’s predicted impact within the competition on Saturday night July 12th, but discusses other contestants’ chances for victory as well. You can view the full broadcast here:
We interviewed several harness racing experts, including Hall of Fame Drivers John Campbell (the GOAT) and Billy O’Donnell, 2020 Trainer of the Year Nancy Takter, 2024 Driver of the Year Dextor Dunn, and others. On Saturday night July 5th there was a prep race involving several of the Pace horses racing on July 12th. Papi’s Pistol, a long-shot, won.

Within the WuzUpDoc® ‘Talking Horses’® video is a short clip of Louprint winning the recent $1Million North American Cup with Madden Oaks challenging him for a photo finish. Louprint will be missed; however, he is expected to return to racing within several weeks. Co-owner Mark Weaver reported, “They were able to get him into surgery right away and remove the testicle without any compromise to his intestines. The best case scenario is that he would miss a few weeks, but we’ll let his recovery determine the timeline. Hopefully, he will be racing in Lexington in August.”
We pass on our condolences and support for a speedy recovery to Louprint and all his connections.
