Reader Photo Challenge: Gettin’ Creative

Horse people are innovative.

If there’s one thing we all know how to do, it’s repurposing a non-horse item for horse use (or vice versa sometimes! I once tied a bag of chips shut with a spare piece of baling twine because I couldn’t find the bag clip).  This week, readers, we wanted to see some of your innovative creations that make barn life a little simpler!

“I use large-sized plastic kitty litter containers with screw on lids that just happen to perfect nest in this plastic bin, to transport water. In picture is 8 gallons. Makes it easy to access water to offer to your horse,” submitted by Patricia Bunge.

“A friend had a fence line replaced. I snagged all the old posts and some boards. Chop, saw, some drilling and a few screws later, 14 jump course. ” Submitted by Off Track, photo by Jennifer Martin.

“I needed a way to keep my wraps clean and close by at the track. And it’s a good way to reuse supplement buckets.” Submitted by Jenni Lee Birch.

“An upright freezer turned into a tack locker! Prevents moldy tack, and keeps my stuff clean, and insect/mice free!” Submitted by Jennifer Stearns Cross.

Keep an eye out for next week’s 24-hour photo challenge! We announce challenge subjects on Monday around the end of the day on both Instagram and Facebook.
