Preparing to event can be difficult without access to a cross-country course, but derbies offer a great venue to hone skills. Take a look at this course!
Eventing is a super fun discipline that truly tests the relationship between horse and rider. One factor that can be limiting to hosting a a full combined test, however, is access to a cross-country course. As a result, many venues that wish to offer competitors a chance to dip their toes in the water complex before taking the full plunge into the world of the eventing are hosting eventing derbies. These abbreviated events typically offer two phases: a dressage phase and a jumping phase, which combines the elements of cross-country and stadium jumping.
In this week’s video, watch Jessie and her horse, Ghost, cruise around what looks to be an incredibly fun derby course!
