ICYMI: Winx Still On a Roll

Winning her 32nd straight start, Winx continues to dominate Australian racing, with her next start slated to be her farewell race.

The fairy tale is almost over, but Winx seems to be just as good as she ever was… if not better.

Her victory in Saturday’s George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill was her 32nd straight win — let that sink in for a moment. The supermare appears to be in fine form, thought she is scheduled to retire after her next race, the Queen Elizabeth Stakes on April 13. Trained by Chris Waller, Winx is poised to go out on top.

Hugh Bowman piloted Winx to her latest victory, keeping the mare well to the outside and out of trouble before asking her with just a flap of the reins for her signature acceleration in the homestretch. Winx blasted by the field as though she had just broken out of the gate, cruising to an easy victory.

The world will be watching as Winx makes her final start next month.

Go riding!
