World Equestrian Brands HelmCam: Grand Canyon

If you do not like heights, you might want to sit this video out…

While hitting the trails with your horse is a great way to spend some time with your best friend, get some exercise and connect once again with nature, it can also be a step back in time depending on where you ride.

If you want to see the Grand Canyon without a single trace of the modern world — no telephone wires, electrical lines, paved roadways or motor engines in sight — check out this video, shot on a nerve-wrackingly skinny trail. With a surefooted, relaxed horse as your companion, you needn’t fear.

THE GRAND CANYON• One of my followers introduced me to this fabulous account—????@thru_rider / Gillian Larson ????. In a little under a month she will be embarking on her THIRD border to border ride, this time via the Continental Divide Trail, or CDT, as the backcountry pros call it. Stay tuned as we follow her epic trip and she guest bogs over on my website. •“This is the north rim of the Grand Canyon. I do various long distance rides with my horses. Last spring we rode the 800 mile Arizona Trail which goes through the Grand Canyon. This year we are riding from the Mexican border to the Canadian border through New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. This will be my third time riding across the US if everything goes to plan. I've been doing these rides for the last 4 years and have just fallen in love with traveling in the back country.”•Tag your photo #lifebetweentheears for a chance to be featured.•#rideon #theworldfromasaddle #tinyvacationinabox #betweentheears #tinyvacationonline #bestview #equestrianphotography #equestriantravel #horsesofinstagram #backcountry#mexicotocanada #grandcanyon #thankyou #gillianlarson #youareawesome #thirdtime

According to the original video poster Gillian Larson, a two-time border to border rider:

“This is the north rim of the Grand Canyon. I’ve been doing these rides for the last 4 years and have just fallen in love with traveling in the back country.”

Best of luck, Gillian! Go riding.
