Say what you want about the hunters being a total snoozefest in comparison to their zippier, flashier show jumping cousins, but we believe one thing to be true here at Horse Nation: a great performance is lovely to watch, regardless of discipline, and a great performance by Louise Serio and Rock Harbor elevate the classic, staid look of the hunters into a true moving work of art.
Here’s their first round, scoring an 89.50, from the 2018 USHJA/WCHR Peter Wetherill Hunter Spectacular under the lights at the Winter Equestrian Festival:

An athletic horse carrying an equally athletic lady (yes, it’s true, Louise has been around the show scene for a few years, which is a testament to her athleticism!) is always a recipe for a big win. This pair’s second round scored an 86.75.
We’d also like to give a special MVP to this gentleman in the corner, caught on camera with his champagne flute:
