Thursday Video: Equine Body Sledding

Nothing to see here… just some horses body-sledding down a grassy hill.

Remember when you were a kid and there was nothing more fun than rolling down a giant grassy hill? (True story: the last time I did this I was violently ill immediately afterwards, but hey — nostalgia, people.)

Turns out, we’re not the only species that enjoys a little hill rolling or body sledding on a slope. Watch these horses making the most out of the topography in their pasture:

Okay, initially, I will admit that I watched this video and thought to myself “no… this is just a coincidence. Horses aren’t aware enough to slide or roll down a hill.”

Then I remembered that my dog will do exactly the same thing both in grass and snow. And if she can do it on purpose, horses most certainly can. Well done, horses. You do you.
