If a well-built galloping racehorse is poetry in motion, then Always Dreaming is a song.
Hey, I may not have been on the Always Dreaming bandwagon before the Kentucky Derby, but after watching this horse continue to train like a class act under Todd Pletcher, I have to admit I might be changing my tune. Much ado was made prior to the Derby over Pletcher’s decision to train the horse with draw reins just a week before the Run for the Roses, but the added aids have helped keep the colt moving positively in training rather than playing up and acting fresh, burning precious energy.
If you’re still feeling unsure, watch this beautiful son of Bodemeister in a Pimlico gallop from May 11, via drone:
Low profile, streamlined, ground-covering gallop just eating up the track… Always Dreaming, we’ve got our eye on you for Saturday’s Preakness Stakes!
Keep it locked on Horse Nation for plenty of Preakness coverage. Go riding!
