Olympic Social Media Roundup: August 11

There’s so much more going on than what you see on TV.

Another exciting day of equestrian competition saw a number of fan favorites perform today, with multiple shifts on the leaderboard for both individual and team standings. Behind the points and scores and maneuvers, however, the Olympics in some respects is just like any other horse show: in the stables, the warm-up rings and the hearts and minds of competitors, there’s another world to be discovered.

We’ll kick things off with an update from current leader Charlotte Dujardin which will hit you right in the feels.

Don’t worry, there’s another one … from show jumper Beezie Madden.

Oh, and another one. We’re familiar with the story of Dutch rider Adelinde Cornelissen, who retired her 19-year-old partner mid-test. Read her words this time and go hug your horse. No, we’re not crying … you’re crying.
