One Week Left to Enter Our ‘Summer Blockbuster’ Contest, Presented by Absorbine!

So many good movies that you could recreate with your horse! Get filming or photographing and enter our summer contest to win a big prize package of Absorbine goodies.

Entries are rolling in for our summer contest: we’ve partnered with Absorbine to present “Summer Blockbuster,” in which we want to see you reenact your favorite movie scene with your horse in either photo or video format. We all know we’ve done it: we’ve pretended we’re Alec riding The Black down the beach or we’re Charlie finishing the final fateful fence aboard Sylvester. And don’t lie, we know you’ve probably recited whole romantic movie scenes to your horse on one or two occasions.

In case you need a little inspiration, here’s one of our favorite horse movie scenes that might be fun to recreate …

… and here’s a non-horsey scene that you might also enjoy.

If you’re still not feeling inspired, check out what’s up for grabs: a collection of Absorbine merchandise (valued over $480!)

Here’s how to enter:

  • Reenact a scene from your favorite movie and capture the scene on video or photo.
  • Send the video or photo to [email protected] and include the following information: your name, the name of the photographer or videographer, and a brief description of the scene with the title of the film. (You don’t have to choose a horse film — sub your horse in for, say, Ryan Gosling in The Notebook if you’re feeling creative and can teach him to row a boat.)
  • Entries are due by Wednesday, July 27 at midnight!
  • Finalists will be selected and voting will open for the best reenacted scene.

And remember to keep it safe! There will be no bonus points for reenacting dangerous scenes like the end of Man From Snowy River or Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken; we don’t mind seeing a riding helmet even if the original scene included a cowboy hat … understand what we mean?

Lights, camera, action, Horse Nation! We can’t wait to see what you come up with.
