Fantasy Farm Tuesday: Lone Star State Stunner

Welcome to this enchanting Texas hacienda!

Marvelous Lone Star State architecture, luxurious outdoor living, and one of the most beautiful indoor arenas we’ve ever seen, y’all!

Deep in the heart of Texas is a charming town called Horseshoe Bay, where the Colorado River is dammed and briefly becomes Lake Lyndon B. Johnson.  It’s here in this Austin suburb that we find a mini-ranch exquisitely designed for the devoted horse lover at 409 Haney Trace.

The Property

The ingenious use of the land makes this 21 acre parcel feel like much more. There are loads of trees and strategically placed water features that give the ranch a feel of ecological diversity. The horse turnouts are generous and fully equipped for water and shelter.

One of the other brilliant concepts? The barn, the house, and the guest space are all under one roof, saving energy, green space, and maximizing logistical areas like the driveways and landscaping.

The Barn

The equine side of the ranch is smartly designed with thoughtful details: sliding doors, loads of light, exposed beaming and terracotta tiling throughout.

The barn also houses a tack room, feed room, kitchen area and state-of-the-art home veterinary space, a feature we’re seeing more and more in high-end barns.

The House

The human residence is decadent Texas living at its finest: Italian tile, Pella windows and doors and beautifully beamed ceilings with a lot of thought given to providing space for fine art and design. The master wing has His & Her closets (or as most of us would call it, Her regular closet, Her horse closet, and that one corner wear He stacks his jeans), a fireplace, and possibly the greatest bathtub ever.

The custom cabinetry, subzero refrigerator and high-end appliances make the kitchen an absolute dream come true for the cook in your family. (Or the hired chef, if you’re so fortunate!)

The Outdoor Space

But the real treasure of this home is the outdoor space. Covered patios, two outdoor kitchens, and a pool that puts most Palm Desert pools to shame make this residence a true gem among gems. There is just nothing like a cool dip and a plate of Texas BBQ after a long hot day at the barn, am I right?
