24 Hour Photo Challenge: Equine Ink
10 reader-submitted horse tattoos!
For this week’s 24-hour photo challenge, we called on Horse Nation to show us its equine ink — horse-themed tattoos. Here are 10 photos that truly show that our love for horses is permanent.

Alison Clare Kennedy: I’ve got three horsey tattoos, but this is definitely my biggest and boldest! Watercolor portrait of my first horse, Davey. JC registered as That’s My David. This was done in 2015 by Chris Borchik at Evolved in Columbus, Ohio. Photo credit goes to my girlfriend Rocky Lawton. This picture was taken immediately after it was finished, all in one seven hour session.
For the #horsenation ink challenge. Inspired by the Scythian culture tattoos found on mummies.

NaConi Mead: “I am both the photographer and the designer. Inked by Scotti McFarland. This is my first tattoo.”

Nine Amelung: “My most recent one. I took the picture. My artist was Derek. I had him tweak the original to have the horse be bay and different designs on its face.”

Maddie Davis: “My first and only tattoo; horse shoe with the Oldenburg brand in the middle for my boy. I took the picture and Mitch Horn at Art Labs Tattoo Studio is the artist!”
Keep an eye out for next week’s 24-hour photo challenge! We announce challenge subjects on Tuesday around the middle of the day on both Instagram and Facebook.
