Absorbine Photo Challenge: 12 of Your Horses’ Worst Fears
Happy Halloween, everyone — we’ve gathered your horses’ worst fears and put them all into one post. Maybe don’t share this one with your favorite equine.
In the spirit of Halloween, we wanted to see the scariest thing your horse has ever faced, captured in photographs. As usual, our readers delivered, sharing photos of their horses’ fears — some rational, others … well, less so. (Hey, we can’t blame them — we have some pretty irrational fears ourselves.)
Our randomly-selected winner of this week’s Absorbine prize pack is …

Natalie Leighton: “Patron hates poles and refuses to trot over them. This is apparently a better option. With this mighty leap, he awkwardly cleared two poles and then bunny hopped over the third and finally figured out how to run around them by the fourth.”
Congratulations! Here are the rest of our finalists:

KC Quinn Watson: “Reggie didn’t like the duck to start with. He snorted and threw it out of his water everytime I put it in there. Luckily now he likes his duck.”

Martha Mitchell: “We had a challenge at our barn – this inflatable alligator in a cage sent my horse wheeling off- the object was to simply ride your horse up and remove one of the orange flags and put it in your pocket. Eeeeeeek! But I stayed on and managed to coax him over and grab a flag!”
Keep an eye out for next week’s Absorbine photo challenge! We announce challenge subjects on Tuesday around the middle of the day on both Instagram and Facebook. Each week offers another chance to be the lucky winner of an Absorbine prize pack!
Go riding!
