Three American riders and one U.S.-based Irish rider are all set to tackle the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials this weekend, and all four horses passed the first trot-up yesterday.

Dressage competition began today, with Germany’s Michael Jung taking the early lead aboard fischerRocana FST, who won Rolex in April. Their score of 34.2 will give them a handy lead but we have many, many more horses to see in the ring yet!

If you’re wondering how to keep up with the Burghley action, there is a fantastic video on demand service in Burghley.tv. While it is not a live stream, the rides are uploaded quickly, so you can view them not too long after they are live.

Our sister site, Eventing Nation, will be carrying all of the Burghley coverage this weekend thanks to eyes on the ground Samantha Clark. You can follow along with all of the Burghley coverage you can possible handle (and then some!) by clicking here.

Want to see what Burghley cross country looks like in action? Check out this fantastic video from 2014:

In the meantime, here’s a look at the cross country course, designed by Capt. Mark Phillips, that riders will be competing on come Saturday — they don’t call it big, bad Burghley for nothing!

Go Burghley, and Go Fleeceworks!
