About to head to the barn but I won’t be wearing this today. “Why ever not?” You might ask. This is my first hunt cap ever. It looks cool with its slim fit and awesome fade but it meets British Safety Standards from 1984 (!!!). Think of how much safety has improved in ANYTHING over the past 31 years! American safety standards (ASTM) will be updated for 2016. As it is, any helmet over 5 years old is considered out of date and of compromised safety due to every day wear and tear, heat, and sweat. Today is #internationalhelmetawarenessday. #mindyourmelon and check the date on your manufacture tag. You’re up to snuff in the show ring, make sure your helmet is too!
