‘Oh Crap’ Monday, Presented by Bimeda

Monday is the crappiest day of the week so it only makes sense that we make things official! Here’s our latest batch of reader-submitted “Oh Crap” photos and videos.

Barbara Mcdonough: “This is a photo of me and my TWH at a trail challenge. There was a stuffed lynx on top of a picnic table that he saw at the last moment because he was busy looking at the umbrella. He is an odd spooker.”

“Moments later checking things out…”

Natalie Mine: “This was January 2012, my mare’s first jump school after having three weeks off for winter break. A disagreement over whether one should canter through trot poles resulted in this overzealous leap, aided by the propeller tail.”

Samantha Gorzkiewicz: “the horse in the video is Aydan, my 3 year old Irish Sport Horse. The video is not your usual “Oh Crap” but this is what happens EVERY DAY. There are some days we cannot get out of the way fast enough. Spring cannot come fast enough to give Aydan a BATH!”

Jenn Shaffer: “This is my 9-year-old OTTB, Tabula Rasa (a.k.a. Rusty), with me on board. Rusty is well known for a few things, one is being overly expressive about many things — everything is epic. His jumping is epic, his farrier visits are epic, his food is epic … and his refusals …. oh his refusals …. He’s jumped this jump in this spot up to 3′ … but today? Hahahahahaha. Prior to this moment he’d been bouncing around and nearly flipped over once. Ahhh, Rusty. Much thanks for my boyfriend for capturing this for me — it was as cold as it sounds.”

Jenn adds that she and Rusty celebrated their five-year anniversary on March 6th. They created this video for Pennsylvania’s Most Wanted Thoroughbred contest about how their partnership has developed since Rusty came off the track: “Oh, it’s been a journey. I know where we started — and I’m doggone proud of how far we’ve come.”
