3 Reader-Submitted Horses Who Got Spoiled On Valentine’s Day

Because nothing says “I love you!” like homemade horse treats.

Bonus: we rounded up a recipe for you to try yourself!

For this week’s 24-hour photo challenge, we wanted to see how you were treating your special someone on Valentine’s Day–that special someone being, of course, your horse. And what horse doesn’t love food?

BUT WAIT! There’s more! Are you ready to spoil your tall, dark and handsome true love? Try out this yummy-sounding horse treat recipe from SaddleLockers.com:

Carrot & Apple Horse Treats:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup grated carrots (about 2 large carrots)
  • 1 cup grated apple (about 1 small apple)
  • 2 tablespoons applesauce
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, mix together the carrots, apple, applesauce, and molasses until combined. Then, add in the oats, flour and cinnamon and stir again until combined. The dough should be sticky. Form it into 1″ size balls. Place them on a parchment lined baking sheet, and bake for 20-25 minutes (or until golden brown.)

Go spoil your horse!
