SmartPak: Stuff Riders Say… About Blankets

It’s like SmartPak can read our minds.

We shared this video a while back but now that we’re solidly in winter’s bracingly cold clutches, we thought it was well worth a rerun.

Following in the grand tradition of SmartPak‘s popular Stuff Riders Say series, this just-released video pretty much takes the words right out of our mouths.

Sound familiar? Yep. So what’s this about a new blanketing app?

Sally Spickard took SmartBlanket for a test drive on Eventing Nation last week — here’s what she had to say:

5 Reasons to Check Out SmartPak’s New SmartBlanket App

1. Personalized recommendations for your horses.

The app asks you for some basic information about your horse(s), such as body condition and turnout schedule. This allows the app to figure out what type of blanket solutions your horse may need.

2. The app utilizes your location (or a location of your choosing if you don’t live close to the barn).

Finally, a good use for the pesky GPS tracker on your phone! The app can detect your location so that it can gather weather forecasts and current temperatures when it comes time to make blanket recommendations.

3. Blanket Type Glossary.

This handy guide can be found within the app and gives a quick tour of the various types of blankets. If you’re anything like me, you get a bit overwhelmed at some of the options available these days. This guide breaks it down for you.

4. Fit Tips.

Clueless on how to check your blanket fit? The app also contains a fitting guide with some helpful hints on measuring and trying on blankets. Now, if only they had an app like this where I could try on my own clothes before I bought them without having the visit the dressing room…

5. Feature Glossary.

Denier? High Neck? Rip-stop? So many terms, so little time. The Feature Glossary in the SmartBlanket app will help alleviate your stress when it comes to picking out the best blanket for your horse. Soon enough, you’ll be a total blanket pro.

Download the app for Android by clicking here and the iOS version is available here.
