Wednesday Helmet Cam, Presented by World Equestrian Brands: Saskatchewan Snow Ride

What is it about an expanse of sparkling, untouched white snow that makes you want to just go and mess it all up?

This week’s helmet cam is from Nikita Lantz, who lives in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. (You know you’re in Canada when you see the moose head on the ground about 25 seconds in!) Winters there are typically bitterly cold, chilled by Arctic air descending from the north — high temperature may not break 1 °F (−17 °C) for weeks at a time.

As horse, rider and dog set out to locate wayward cattle, there’s something about the scene: the barren landscape, the bright cold sun, horse and rider making their own path through the pristine snow… it’s just special.

From every corner of the Horse Nation to you and yours, Merry Christmas.
